The Big Apple Circus is an intimate spectacle. The audience experiences all the excitement of a big top circus but no one is more than 30 feet from the action. You feel the thundering hooves of the horses and see the sweat dripping off the trapeze artists. As a photographer, it is a special opportunity to photograph the circus in action and backstage, behind the scenes. I got to know every performer, whether human or animal. These pictures are my personal portrait of The Big Apple Circus.
